Choice Royce is a Harlem-born and raised artist whose creative roots trace back to the 1990s, when he began immersing himself in street art and graffiti while attending SUNY Purchase and Old Westbury. Working in public space became both his canvas and his conversation with the city. His early “monster” characters—often described by passersby as playful or strange—were never about creatures, but about emotions on the street: laughter, joy, sadness, anger, and the full range of everyday feelings people move through. These expressive figures allowed strangers to see themselves reflected in the work, creating an immediate, human connection. His later “ghost” character functions as a more personal, self-portrait-esque symbol—representing the desire to move through the world incognito, visible yet anonymous, much like a graffiti artist themselves. Choice Royce is currently focused on sharing his art on his own terms—creating a single space to showcase his visual art, photography, and music, where the work can be seen, experienced, and felt without distraction.
